BelOil’s A-95 petrol supplies to Ukraine up 7.5% above base contract to 21,500 tonnes in Jun 2021

The Belarusian Oil Company CJSC (BelOil, special exporter of Belarusian oil products) increased supplies of A-95 petrol to Ukraine by 7.5% above the plan to 21,500 tonnes in June 2021, although the Mozyr Oil Refinery (Gomel Oblast) is under repairs, еnkorr reports, citing Consulting Group A95 (Ukraine).<br> <br> Petrol supplies to Ukraine fell in June 2021 by 55% year on year to 43.6 thousand tons.<br> <br> A-95 says a decline was expected given the repairs at the Mozyr Oil Refinery and a reduction in oil refining volumes at Naftan (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast).<br> <br> In June 2021, motor gasoline imports to Ukraine fell by 20% compared with June 2020, to 93.3 thousand tons.<br> <br> As previously reported, the Mozyr refinery pushed back its capital repairs (planned to begin on May 15, 2021) to June to avoid problems with fuel supplies to the domestic market after Russia cut oil supplies to the second Belarusian refinery–Naftan–in May due to U.S. sanctions.<br> <br> On June 3, 2021, the U.S. Treasury Department resumed sanctions against nine Belarusian companies: Belneftekhim state petrochemical concern and its U.S. branch, Belshina, Grodno Azot, Grodno Khimvolokno, Lakokraska, Polotsk Fiberglass, Belarusian Oil Trading House and Naftan.<br> <br> BelOil increased petrol supplies to Ukraine in 2020 by 23.7% year on year to 854,500 thousand tons, bringing the share of Belarusian petrol in Ukraine’s imports in 2020 up by 9 percentage points against 2019 to 78%. The increase in supplies resulted from the new terms of sales of Belarusian petrol for Ukrainian traders in a package with diesel fuel under 2020 fixed-term contracts. Earlier, BelOil established that the proportion of petrol in the package sales must make up at least 40% of the declared volume of diesel fuel purchases.<br> <br> Ukraine increased its petrol import in 2020 by 5.5% year on year to 1.1 million tonnes.<br> <br> The Belarusian Oil Company CJSC was established in May 2007. Belorusneft owns a 52% stake in the company, Naftan OJSC and Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC own 24% each. BelOil exports oil products produced by its shareholders, purchases and refines oil at Belarusian refineries. The company has subsidiaries in Poland, Latvia, the UK, Russia and Ukraine. End<br> <br>
