Belneftekhim denies supplying oil to Belarus from Russia via Ukraine

Ukrtransnafta’s information about Russian oil supplies to Belarus via Ukraine is in contrary to fact, says Belneftekhim state petrochemical concern.<br> <br> Russian RIA Novosti news agency reported on July 15, citing the Federal Customs Service of Russia, that Russian customs officers detected smuggling of crude oil worth 2 billion rubles to Ukraine through the port of Novorossiysk. According to preliminary data, 80,000 tonnes of oil were loaded into Altai tanker. The captain indicated the Italian port of Augusta as the destination. After leaving the Russian territory, the tanker headed for the Ukrainian port of Yuzhny near Odessa, where the oil was unloaded.<br> <br> The Central Energy Customs Service opened a criminal case on smuggling (section 226.1.1 of the Criminal Code, carries a prison term of seven years in Russia). <br> <br> Ukrtransnafta told RBC-Ukraine on July 16 that the oil was shipped in transit.
