Belarus’ industrial output up 10.4% in Jan-Jun 2021 to Br71.135bn
MINSK, Jul 16 – PrimePress. Belarus’ industrial output increased by 10.4% on the year in January-June 2021 to 71.135 billion Belarusian rubles (Br), or U.S. $27.96 billion at the official rate of the National Bank, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a statement.<br> <br> Output of foods, beverages and tobacco goods grew by 2.5% year on year to Br16.774 billion ($6.59 billion).<br> <br> Output of metallurgical industries was up 9.3% to Br5.237 billion ($2.058 billion), production of vehicles and equipment grew by 15.6% to Br3.172 billion ($1.25 billion). <br> <br> Output of plastic and rubber goods, other non-metal mineral products increased by 0.3% in Jan-Jun 2021 to Br4.507 billion ($1.77 billion).<br> <br> Output of electronic and optical equipment in Belarus increased by 24.5% yr on yr to Br1.132 billion ($444.9 million), electrical equipment – up 15.6% to Br1.776 billion ($698.1 million).<br> <br> Output of machines and equipment (which do not belong to other statistical categories) stood at Br4.572 billion ($1.8 billion), up 22.3% year on year.<br> <br> Belstat has not been publishing data on output of coke, refined oil products and chemical products since June 2021.
