Belarus’ food, farm products exports up 11.3% to $2.5bn in Jan-May 2021

Belarus increased exports of foods and agricultural raw materials in January-May 2021 by 11.3% year on year to $2.5 billion, the Agriculture Ministry reports.<br> <br> Belarus supplied foods to 93 countries in January-May 2021. “Supplies in almost all regions showed an increase. Exports to the CIS, including the Russian Federation, increased by 6.2%, to Asia and Oceania - by 58.5%, EU - 45.7%, America and the Caribbean - 85.7%, Africa - 25%. Food exports to the People’s Republic of China increased by 52.6%. Shipments to countries outside the CIS grew by 53.3% year on year,” reads the report.<br> <br> According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Alexei Bogdanov, in 2021, Belarus may increase exports of farm products and foods by 3.4% to $6 billion. In 2020, Belarus increased exports of farm products and foods by 4.3% against 2019 to $5.8 billion. End<br> <br>
