BelVEB, Belarusian Innovation Fund to cooperate in development of innovation market in Belarus
MINSK, Jul 8 - PrimePress. BelVEB Bank OJSC and the Belarusian Innovation Fund have signed an agreement to cooperate in developing the innovation and venture capital markets and foster development of the venture capital ecosystem in Belarus, the press office of the bank reported on July 6, 2021. <br> <br> According to First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus Andrei Kosovski, BelVEB-BIF cooperation will improve access to financing and facilitate IT penetration.<br> <br> The Belarusian Innovation Fund was established by government decree to promote innovation as a non-profit organization subordinate to the State Committee for Science and Technology. The Innovation Fund aims at facilitating development of innovative entrepreneurship and effective functioning of enterprises and organizations, and developing and producing high-tech innovative products in Belarus. The Fund is a co-investor in the Russian-Belarusian RBF Ventures, the first classic venture fund in the innovation ecosystem of Belarus.<br> <br> BelVEB Bank OJSC was registered by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus on December 12, 1991. The share of the Russian state corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank) in the authorized capital of BelVEB Bank OJSC makes up 97.52%; Minsk City Territorial State Property Fund – 2.29%.
