BELKART Payment System CJSC will become part of the Banks Processing Center OJSC (BPC), as decided by the extraordinary meeting of the BPC and BELKART shareholders on May 11, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Shares of BELKART Payment System CJSC will be exchanged for six additionally issued ordinary shares of BPC. BELKART co-founders Belarusbank OJSC, Belagropombank OJSC and Belinvestbank OJSC will receive two shares each. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the National Bank, as of April 1, 2020, Belarus issued 3.15 million BELKART payment cards and 1.8 million cards jointly with the Maestro system. </p> <p> </p> <p> BELKART Payment System CJSC was registered in 2013. It was founded by the Banks Processing Center, Belarusbank, Belagroprombank and Belinvestbank. </p> <p> </p> <p> Banks Processing Center OJSC is a specialized center for information technology support for non-cash payments with the use of the payment systems of BELKART, VISA International, MasterCard WorldWide, UnionPay, American Express and MIR, which operate in Belarus. The BPC was established by a number of the largest Belarusian banks and industrial enterprises.
