Trade Ministry lists alcoholic beverages allowed for free import into Belarus in 2021
<p> MINSK, Nov 24 - PrimePress. The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) of Belarus has issued the list of elite alcoholic beverages, the import of which in 2021 is not subject to the exclusive right of the state, according to MART resolution No.73 of November 17, 2020 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on November 24, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> The list includes 52 elite cognacs (same as in 2020), 85 whiskeys (down 13.3% from 2020), 26 rums (down 16.1%), 22 champagnes (same as in 2020), and 34 gins (down 25%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The exclusive right of the state does not extend to the import of grape wines, if the minimum producer price is at or above €10 per bottle (0.75 liters). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, only companies, the statutory funds of which amount to at least €250,000 may be granted the right to import alcoholic beverages into Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> Importers must be licensed to import and sell alcoholic beverages. To obtain the license, the applicant must submit a contract with the producer and the imported product specification. The Belarusian government authorized the Trade Ministry to make annual lists of alcoholic beverages, to which the exclusive import right of the state does not apply. End </p>
