Syrian airline Cham Wings suspends flights to Minsk from 13 Nov
<p> MINSK, Nov 15 - PrimePress. Syria’s private air carrier Cham Wings Airlines has cancelled its flights to Minsk from 13 November 2021 because of the escalating migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border, according to the company's official statement on Twitter. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the statement, the decision was also made due to the fact that the majority of Cham Wings passengers have Syrian citizenship and it is difficult to distinguish travellers from migrants. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Cham Wings Airlines opened a charter programme on the Damascus-Minsk route in September 2021. At the end of October, the company announced an intention to operate regular daily flights to Minsk. </p> <p> </p> President of the European Council Charles Michel said on 10 November that the EU could impose sanctions on airlines that support illegal migration to Belarus.
