SvetlogorskKhimvolokno plans to launch production of medical gloves in December 2021

OAO SvetlogorskKhimvolokno (Svetlogorsk Chemical Fibre Plant based in Gomel Oblast) is planning to launch medical gloves production in December 2021 with the projected capacity up to 200 million gloves a year, the company’s deputy chief engineer Sergey Ushak said in an interview published by the Belneftekhim Newsletter. </p> <p> </p> <p> “There is no such full-cycle production in Belarus. There are firms that import non-packaged gloves from abroad, then pack them and sell them,” Ushak said. </p> <p> </p> <p> In his words, SvetlogorskKhimvolokno plans to organize production of medical examination and surgical disposable gloves both from polymer butadiene acrylonitrile and natural latex on two complete lines with the capacity of at least 300,000 gloves a day (about 200 million gloves a year). </p> <p> </p> <p> The project is to be implemented in two stages: the first stage is scheduled for December 2021, the second - for July 2022. </p> <p> </p> <p> Founded in 1964, SvetlogorskKhimvolokno is one of the largest companies of the Belarusian petrochemical industry. It specializes in the production of polyester textile yarns, polymer and carbon fibre materials, technical yarn, advanced materials and fabrics.
