Stoneva Limited acquires 100% of shares in MTBank owner

Businessman Romeo Abdo’s Stoneva Limited has acquired 100% of the shares in MTB INVESTMENTS HOLDINGS LIMITED, a holding company which owns over 99% of shares in MTBank, the bank said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> The shares were acquired from the former beneficial owners of MTBank - Energo Oil CJSC and Belneftegaz ALC, which had owned the bank since 2015. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Belarus, Romeo Abdo is one of the founders of BNK Estate Group, which has built Galileo shopping and entertainment centre in Minsk and Rubin Plaza and Silver Tower business centres. Romeo Abdo’s business partners were previously involved in the creation of CJSC Mezhtorgbank in Belarus, which was subsequently acquired by a consortium of Alfa Group. </p> <p> </p> <p> MTBank was registered by the National Bank of Belarus in March 1994.
