SOCAR to supply 94,000 tonnes of Azeri Light oil to Belarus Aug 26-27, 2020

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will send one more batch (94,000 tonnes) of Azeri Light crude oil from the port of Ceyhan (Turkey) to Belarus on August 26-27, 2020, SOCAR Spokesman Ibrahim Akhmetov told RIA Novosti. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Oil supplies to Belarus are carried out on a spot basis. The supply of about 93,000-94,000 tonnes of Azerbaijani by sea was agreed on several weeks ago. The tanker will depart from the port of Ceyhan of Turkey. The shipment is planned for August 26-27,” Akhmetov said. </p> <p> </p> <p> SOCAR’s subsidiary SOCAR Trading supplied Belneftekhim with about 505,000 tonnes in March-July 2020 through the port of Odessa and then the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline to the Mozyr Oil Refinery. Belneftekhim says that SOCAR can supply up to 1 million tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus has been diversifying oil supplies to its refineries (Mozyr Oil Refinery, Gomel Oblast, and Naftan OJSC, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) after Russia cut supplies in January-March 2020 due to price disagreements with Russian large oil companies.
