SOCAR supplies 1.038m tonnes of crude oil to Belarus Jan-Oct 2020

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic SOCAR supplied 1.038 million tonnes of crude oil to Belarus in ten sea tankers in January-October 2020, including 755,000 tonnes of Azeri Light and around 283,000 tonnes of oil purchased through oil traders, SOCAR Spokesman Ibrahim Akhmedov told Interfax-Azerbaijan. </p> <p> </p> <p> “This year, we sent seven tankers with Azerbaijani oil to Belneftekhim totaling around 4.75 million barrels (755,000 tonnes, and three tankers with non-Azerbaijani oil, around 1.78 million barrels (283,000 tonnes) on a spot basis,” Akhmedov said. </p> <p> </p> <p> He said SOCAR was not planning on supplying oil to Belarus in November. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belneftekhim said earlier that SOCAR could deliver up to 1 million tonnes of oil in 2020 through its subsidiary SOCAR Trading via the Yuzhny port of Odessa (Ukraine) and through Odessa-Brody pipeline to the Mozyr Refinery (Gomel Oblast). </p> <p> </p> <p> Currently, Belarus is diversifying oil supplies to its two refineries (Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC, Gomel Oblast, and Naftan OJSC, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast). Belarus receives Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline and by rail, and oil from alternative suppliers by sea through the ports of Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Odessa (Ukraine). This year, Belarus purchased oil from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Norway, Saudi Arabia and the United States. End </p>
