Shareholders express support to Belgazprombank management - official release

Proceedings by the Financial Investigation Department (FID) of the State Control Committee of Belarus with regard to a number of companies and individuals, which are carried out in the building of Belgazprombank, will not affect the financial stability of the bank, reads a statement posted by Belgazprombank shareholders – Russia’s Gazprom and GPB Bank. </p> <p> </p> <p> The shareholders declare their full support of the bank and say they are ready to contribute to resolving the situation in coordination with the National Bank of Belarus, </p> <p> </p> <p> The shareholders’ statement was posted on the bank’s website. </p> <p> </p> <p> As earlier reporter, on June 11, officers of the Financial Investigation Department (FID) of the State Control Committee of Belarus launched proceedings against a number of companies and individuals at the headquarters of Belgazprombank in Minsk. </p> <p> </p> <p> “These events will not affect the financial stability of the bank, the fulfilment of commitments and customer service,” reads the press release. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belgazprombank was established in 1990 and is the authorized bank of the Gazprom Group in Belarus. Russia’s Gazprom and Gazprombank each hold a 49.66% stake in Belgazprombank, Gazprom Transgaz Belarus holds a 0.49% share, and 0.18% is held by Belarus’ Ministry of Energy. Belgazprombank belongs to Tier I Group. End </p>
