Second American tanker with crude oil for Belarus arrives at Lithuania’s port
<p> MINSK, Aug 10 - PrimePress. The second tanker with American oil for Belarus has arrived at the Klaipeda port (Lithuania). The oil will be delivered by rail to Naftan refinery (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) starting August 12-13, says Spokesman for Belneftekhim state petrochemical concern Alexander Tishchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> “A sea tanker with 76,000 tonnes of American White Eagle oil arrived at the port of Klaipeda today. The oil will be transported by rail to the Novopolotsk refinery. The first tank-cars are expected to arrive at the refinery on August 12-13. The whole batch will be delivered for processing by the end of the month,” says Tishchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> He said this was the second delivery of American oil to Belarus by sea. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The grade supplied this time is specifically designed as an analogue of the Russian Urals for European refineries,” said Tishchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> Currently, Belarus is diversifying oil supplies to its refineries, continuing bargaining over the price with its main traditional supplier–Russia. Continuing purchasing Russian oil through the Druzhba trunk oil pipeline and by rail in 2020, Belarus is looking at alternative routes for transporting crude to its refineries (Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC, Gomel Oblast, and Naftan OJSC, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast). Oil is being delivered by sea via the ports of Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Odessa (Ukraine). End </p>
