The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) needs to create a common digital space and give the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) the status of an integration support centre. Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said this in his welcoming speech to the participants in the First Eurasian Congress on December 4.
He noted that development institutions - the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) - are actively working in the EEU.
“In the future, the bank should become a regional centre for support of integration processes, focus on the implementation of important interstate projects,” said Mishustin.
He called for the development of digital transport corridors in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Community, which will accelerate freight traffic and increase the revenue of transport and logistics companies.
“Digital trade has great prospects. We are working to promote internet trade within the EEU.
