Russia sees no threats to its businesses or nationals in Belarus – Peskov

Russia closely monitors the observance of the interests of Russian business in Belarus, seeing no threats to it or Russian nationals in the country, says Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the Russian President. </p> <p> </p> <p> “We certainly very closely monitor safety of our citizens and our business, observance of the interests of our business. We proceed from the premise that nothing threatens our citizens or our business in Belarus,” Peskov says. </p> <p> </p> <p> When asked whether Russia would reconsider its position if certain lines were crossed, Peskov said, “It would be very undesirable if the interests of our business were jeopardized, or some non-competitive reality emerged, but there are no reasons to believe so far that something like this can happen.” </p> <p> </p> <p> The Bell reported on Tuesday, citing its sources, that Yandex had begun evacuating its office in Belarus. RIA Novosti said that the Minsk Office of Yandex continues working remotely, and part of its team had left the city. </p> <p> </p> <p> In mid-August, armed masked men searched the offices of the Russian Yandex Internet Holding in Minsk and interrogated several employees.
