Russia hopes for the abolition of international roaming with Belarus in the near future, says Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrei Rudenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> Russian and Belarusian telecom companies have been testing a new billing system since November 1, 2020 at prices of calls reduced manifold. The interconnect rate was lowered from $0.3 to $0.015 per minute. </p> <p> </p> <p> The parties have been in roaming abolition talks for a few years now. They adopted a roadmap for the abolition of roaming in the Union State and a fraud prevention plan. </p> <p> </p> <p> This roadmap was approved by the Telecom Ministers of both countries in December 2019. The fee for incoming calls is expected to be abolished in September 2020. End </p>
