Russia cuts oil supplies to Belarus in Jan-Jun 2020 by 44.3% to 4.646m tonnes – Central Dispatching Department
<p> MINSK, Jul 2 - PrimePress. Russia reduced oil supplies to Belarus in January-June 2020 by 44.3% year on year to 4.646 million tonnes. The supply plan for this period provided for 12.867 million tonnes, says the Central Dispatch Office of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Russian Federation. </p> <p> </p> <p> In January-June 2020, 2.078 million tonnes were delivered to the Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC (Gomel Oblast) against planned 6.409 million. Naftan OJSC (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) received 2.567 million tonnes, the agreed plan being 6.458 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> In June, Russia supplied 514,900 tonnes of oil to the Mozyr Refinery against planned 1.007 million. Naftan received 489,900 (2.002 million planned). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, intergovernmental agreements stipulate supplies of 24 million tonnes of duty-free Russian oil in 2020. Since late 2019, the Belarusian refineries have been in talks with Russia’s major suppliers, but have so far failed to achieve long-term contracts due to price disagreements, and had to reduce their workload by 50% in January-June 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Q1 2020, Safmar Group oil companies started supplying oil to Belarus. In addition, Belarus began purchasing oil from alternative sources. In particular, this year Minsk has bought oil from Azerbaijan, Norway, Saudi Arabia and the USA. </p> <p> </p> <p> In July Belarus is planning to buy 1.58 million tonnes of oil from Russian oil companies, Alexander Tishchenko, press secretary of Belneftekhim State Concern, said in late June.
