President’s powers to change FEZ borders in Belarus to be transferred to government - bill
<p> MINSK, Dec 14 - PrimePress. The president’s authority to change the boundaries of free economic zones (FEZ) in Belarus will be transferred to the government. This is stipulated in the bill “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus ‘On Free Economic Zones,” which passed its second reading at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 14 December 2021, the lower chamber’s website says. </p> <p> </p> <p> In particular, the bill says that the initiative to change FEA borders can be taken by regional (Minsk City) executive committees and FEA administrations. End </p> <p> </p> <p> The bill also stipulates that the decision to change the boundaries of a free economic zone to include within its boundaries the territories represented by agricultural land, forest land of the forest fund (nature conservation, recreational and protective forests), shall be taken by the government upon agreement with the president. </p> <p> </p> <p> There are six free economic zones in Belarus (one in each regional administrative centre, including Minsk City).
