Motor fuel supplies from Belarus will help cover a possible shortage in Russia, while the cost of imported gasoline will be beneficial to the Russian consumer, reckons Artem Tuzov of Univer Capital Investment Company. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Russian government has instructed the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work through the issue of gasoline supplies from Belarus by April 15, Kommersant newspaper wrote on Tuesday, citing the minutes of a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. According to the newspaper, this will increase the supply of fuel on the domestic market. </p> <p> </p> <p> On Monday, Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin said in an interview to Komsomolskaya Pravda that in the near future Russia would not face any shortage of gasoline, there would not be any interruption of fuel supply during the spring maintenance period at Russian oil refineries. </p> <p> </p> <p> Tuzov reminded that the fuel market is also aimed at stabilization of the damping mechanism that smoothes fuel price fluctuations starting from May 1. According to him, this will reduce the growth rate of the cost of fuel in the wholesale sector which will be immediately reflected in the dynamics of prices at gas stations - they will begin to decline. </p> <p> </p> <p> In addition, the situation with gasoline will be resolved by increasing the required rate of production of fuel for Russian refineries in order to prevent shortages for retail and wholesale customers during the high spring demand. “Overall, all these measures will stabilize prices on the domestic market, including supplies from Belarus will be aimed at resolving this problem,” Tuzov said.
