Petrikovsky Potash Factory starts fertilizer shipments
<p> MINSK, Aug 21 – PrimePress. The Petrikov ore-dressing factory (Gomel Oblast), controlled by Belaruskali (Soligorsk, Minsk Oblast), has shipped the first batch of 28.64 tonnes of fertilizers, reads a message posted in the company’s telegram channel. </p> <p> </p> <p> The message says: “The batch of pink-red fine potassium chloride of 28.64 tons was shipped in bulk from the warehouse of the Petrikovsky Mining Company.” </p> <p> </p> <p> The order for the first shipment of potash fertilizer was placed by Polesie-Agroinvest, a local agricultural enterprise. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belaruskali plans to produce about 100,000 tonnes of mineral fertilizers at the Petrikov ore-dressing factory by the end of 2020. Belaruskali’s fifth ore-dressing factory will produce small and granular potassium chloride. </p> <p> </p> <p> On 30 January 2020, Belaruskali produced the first batch of potash fertilizers from the ore extracted at the Petrikov ore-dressing factory. The construction of the Petrikov ore-dressing factory began in August 2014. Its designed capacity stands at 1.5 million tonnes of potash fertilizers per year, which may increase to 3 million tonnes. The Petrikov ore-dressing factory plans to reach its full capacity within three years. </p> <p> </p> <p> The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of potash fertilizers. It operates the Starobinskoye potash salts deposit and comprises four mine groups, auxiliary shops and support units. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belaruskali controls 16% of the world’s potash fertilizer market. Belaruskali supplies potash fertilizers to more than 50 countries, with OAO Belarus Potash Company acting as a sole export agent. End </p>
