NBB provides banks with Br80m in credit auction

The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) provided banks on Aug 18, 2021 with Br80 million ($32.037 million at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus) in credit auction No.752 for a period of 180 days, the NBB reports on its official website. </p> <p> </p> <p> 13 bids fr om 11 banks for a total of Br478.6 billion were accepted. </p> <p> </p> <p> The quoted interest rate was set at 11.25% per annum. </p> <p> </p> <p> It was decided to lim it the credit amount to Br80 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the Board of the National Bank decided to supplement the system of refinancing instruments from January 2021 with monthly auctions for loans to support the liquidity of the banking system. The auctions are held at the pre-announced interest rate, which is equal to the rate on permanently available liquidity support transactions of the National Bank in the form of overnight loans plus 1 p.p.
