NBB provides banks with Br50m via credit auction

The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) provided banks on Apr 21, 2021 with Br50 million in credit auction No.746 for a period of 180 days, the NBB reports on its official website. </p> <p> </p> <p> 18 bids from 13 banks for a total of Br1.243 billion ($481m) were accepted. </p> <p> </p> <p> The quoted interest rate was set at 10.5% per annum. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the Board of the National Bank decided to supplement the system of refinancing instruments from January 2021 with monthly auctions for loans to support the liquidity of the banking system. The auctions are held at the pre-announced interest rate, which is equal to the rate on permanently available liquidity support transactions of the National Bank in the form of overnight loans plus 1 p.p.
