NBB provides banks with Br250m via credit auction

The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) provided banks on Mar 17, 2021 with Br250 million in credit auction No.745 for a period of 180 days, the NBB reports on its official website. </p> <p> </p> <p> 26 bids from 15 banks for a total of Br3.702 billion were accepted. </p> <p> </p> <p> The quoted interest rate was set at 9.75% per annum. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the Board of the National Bank decided to supplement the system of refinancing instruments from January 2021 with monthly auctions for loans to support the liquidity of the banking system. The auctions are held at the pre-announced interest rate, which is equal to the rate on permanently available liquidity support transactions of the National Bank in the form of overnight loans plus 1 p.p.
