NBB posts estimated standard risk rates for Aug 2021

The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) has posted estimated standard risk rates for August 2021 with regard to instruments of the credit market. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ central bank posts monthly updates on estimated standard risk rates on the NBB web site in the Financial Stability section. </p> <p> </p> <p> The estimated standard risk rate for new corporate credits in Belarusian rubles, excluding preferential loans, in August 2021 will stand at 14.87% per annum (14.28% in June 2021). </p> <p> </p> <p> For new loans in the national currency provided to individuals, excluding preferential loans, the rate is 19.02% per annum (18.27% in July 2021). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, in March 2020, the National Bank suspended the approval and application of the standard risk rate on deposit instruments, expecting banks to be more flexible under the current conditions when responding to market changes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Accordingly, the estimated standard risk rate is still not established for new revocable time deposits of individuals and legal entities in the national currency (6.21% per annum in February 2020); for new irrevocable time deposits of individuals in the national currency with a maturity of one to six months inclusive (9.22%); from six months to one year inclusive (9.95%); over one year (12.05%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The National Bank has been calculating estimated standard risk rates since March 1, 2019 on a monthly basis based on average interest rates for six financial instruments of the credit and deposit market in the national currency of systemically important banks assigned to significance group I. This group includes in 2020 Belarusbank, Belagroprombank, Belgazprombank, BPS-Sberbank, Priorbank, BelVEB Bank, and Belinvestbank. End </p>

The estimated standard risk rate for new corporate credits in Belarusian rubles, excluding preferential loans, in August 2021 will stand at 14.87% per annum (14.28% in June 2021).
