NBB lists banks to be systemically important in 2021
<p> MINSK, Nov 18 - PrimePress. The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) has listed the banks defined as systemically important in 2021, the NBB says on its official website. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusbank JSC, Belagroprombank JSC, Belgazprombank JSC, BPS-Sberbank JSC, Priorbank JSC, BelVEB Bank JSC and Belinvestbank JSC are assigned to the 1st group of systemic importance. </p> <p> </p> <p> Alfa-Bank CJSC, VTB Bank CJSC (Belarus), MTBank CJSC, Bank Dabrabyt OJSC, Paritetbank OJSC and BNB-Bank OJSC are in the 2nd group of systemic importance. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The status is assigned upon an aggregate assessment of their systemic importance by based on such indicators as the scale of the bank’s operations, its interconnection with resident banks, importance to the economy and interconnection with non-residents. Calculation of the said indicators has been made in line with the guidelines for determining systemically important banks and non-bank financial institutions as per resolution No.180 of the National Bank Board of May 18, 2017,” the NBB says. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the National Bank, in 2021, the banks are to ensure compliance with regulatory capital adequacy standards with account of the systemic importance buffer. The boards of directors (supervisory boards) are to appoint remuneration committees to be headed by independent directors. </p> <p> </p> <p> There is only one change to the last year’s list of systemically important banks, which is in effect until December 31, 2020: BNB-Bank OJSC was added to the group 2 list for 2021.
