NBB forecasts annual inflation at around 9% in Dec 2021
MINSK, Jul 15 - PrimePress. The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) forecasts annual inflation at around 9% in December 2021, the bank’s press office reports.<br> <br> “In late Q3, the annual inflation rate will remain close to the level of this June largely due to the ongoing acceleration of inflation. The inflationary processes will slow down in the future. The annual increase in consumer prices is estimated to be near 9% in December 2021. Inflation in annual terms will approach 6% at the end of 2022,” reads the report.<br> <br> As previously reported, inflation in Belarus was at 0.7% in June 2021; at 5.8% in January-June. Prices rose by 9.9% year on year in June 2021; by 8.8% in January-June 2021. In 2020, inflation in Belarus was at 7.4%, the official forecast being 5%. The inflation target set for 2021 was also at or below 5%. End<br> <br>
