MTS Belarus reports 16% increase in proceeds in 3Q20 to Br318.7m
<p> MINSK, Nov 30 – PrimePress. Belarus’ telecom operator MTS says its business proceeds increased by 16% in the 3nd quarter of 2020 on the year to Br318.7 million ($123.4 million at the official rate of the National Bank). </p> <p> </p> <p> OIBDA grew by 11% year on year in 3Q20 to Br164.8m ($63.8m). The operator’s net proceeds were up 10.6% in 3Q20 to Br93.4m ($36.2m). </p> <p> </p> <p> The number of subscribers was up 0.6% to 5.7 million in 3Q20. </p> <p> </p> <p> MTS was registered in Belarus on April 4, 2002. The operator is a joint venture between Russia’s largest mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) and Belarus’ Beltelecom operator. The companies hold respective stakes of 49% and 51% in the joint venture. </p> <p> </p> <p> MTS Belarus started providing GSM 900/1800 standard services on June 27, 2002; launched 3G revenue service in May 2010 and 4G revenue service in December 2015.
