MTS Belarus raises tariffs 4% from October 1

The Belarusian telecommunications operator and digital services provider, Mobile TeleSystems JLLC (MTS Belarus), says it will increase personal and corporate tariffs for basic cellular services by an average of 4% over current tariffs from 1 October 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The changes will affect the cost of subscription fees, mobile Internet, voice calls, fixed Internet and roaming services, SMS, etc. </p> <p> </p> <p> The operator informs that the change in tariffs for fixed Internet services, roaming communication services and other additional services may be in a different amount. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Changes in tariffs are conditioned by several factors: ongoing support and development of network infrastructure, including expansion of 4G capacity, implementation of new technological solutions. This will improve the quality of communications and provide equal access to mobile Internet and digital services to customers throughout the country, including in the suburbs and remote villages,” the statement said. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ telecom provider A1 also announced an increase in tariffs for selected telecoms services from 1 October 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> MTS was registered in Belarus on April 4, 2002. The operator is a joint venture between Russia’s largest mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) and Belarus’ Beltelecom operator. The companies hold respective stakes of 49% and 51% in the joint venture. </p> <p> </p> <p> MTS Belarus started providing GSM 900/1800 standard services on June 27, 2002; launched 3G revenue service in May 2010 and 4G revenue service in December 2015. The operator’s subscriber base totals 5.7 million. End </p>
