Mozyr NPZ plans to build propylene concentration unit by 2025

The Mozyr NPZ oil refinery (Gomel Oblast) plans to build a propylene concentration unit by 2025, as it follows from a message posted on the web site of Mozyr District Administration. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The goal of the project is to set up propylene production on the basis of the propane-propylene catalytic cracking fraction in order to improve production efficiency and increase the output of products with high added value,” the report says. </p> <p> </p> <p> A propylene concentration unit is planned to be located on the territory of the Mozyr Refinery. The propylene concentration unit will ensure processing of 219.24 tons of propylene fraction per year to produce up to 169.64 tons of high-grade propylene per year. The unit is expected to operate for more than 35 years. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the last three years the Mozyr refinery has been busy constructing a $1.2bn H-oil cracking facility. The H-oil project design is based on the technology licensed by France’s Axens. It is a key project in the Mozyr-based oil refinery’s upgrade programme. The project will enable Mozyr NPZ to push the oil conversion ratio to 90% from 84% at the moment. </p> <p> </p> <p> The refinery was established in 1975 and transformed into a joint-stock company in 1994, with a 42.757% stake currently owned by the state.
