Motor fuel wholesalers will be required to have 30-day stocks in tanks - draft ordinance
<p> MINSK, Dec 15 - PrimePress. The state-owned Belneftekhim Group proposes to make it mandatory for motor fuel wholesalers to have 30 days' worth of fuel in their tank farms. </p> <p> </p> <p> This is stated in the draft ordinance, which was put up for public discussion from 15 to 23 December 2021 and published on the website of the Belarus Legal Forum. </p> <p> </p> <p> “In order to avoid disruptions in the supply of motor fuel to consumers, as well as to increase the responsibility of wholesale and retail petroleum product trading entities, Belneftekhim proposes to improve the mechanism for supplying the domestic market with motor fuel. This can be achieved by means of establishing and maintaining tank farms for storing motor fuels in the volume of 30 days’ consumption on a countrywide scale by all entities engaged in the wholesale distribution of motor fuels,” Belneftekhim said. </p> <p> </p> <p> The new requirements will not affect the interests of entities that only sell petroleum products through petrol stations, and the measures taken will promote a competitive market, Belneftekhim’s explanatory note says.
