Minskenergo procures equipment for construction of 300MW back-up power generator

Belenergo State Production Association procures equipment for the second stage of a 300 MW peak-reserve power plant at cogeneration plant No.5 (Druzhny, Pukhovichi District, Minsk Oblast). According to the official procurement website icitrade.by, the cost of the equipment is estimated at Br3.251 million ($1.253 million at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus). </p> <p> </p> <p> Bids will be accepted until March 22, 2021. Residents and non-residents of the Republic of Belarus are invited to participate in the tender. The delivery term is 150 calendar days from the contract date. The purchase is financed from Belenergo’s own funds. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will open a long-term credit line of €101.2 million for Minskenergo to finance the supply of primary equipment under a contract with SIEMENS Energy AB. </p> <p> </p> <p> Minskenergo is building a peak-reserve power plant at cogeneration plant No.5 to ensure uninterrupted functioning of the energy system during the periods of maximum and minimum electricity consumption, and to set up a reserve capacity to avoid electricity supply interruptions and to enhance reliability and safety of the power system. </p> <p> </p> <p> Part of Belenergo state-owned company, Minskenergo is engaged in production, transportation, distribution and sale of electric and thermal energy, and operational dispatch management of the regional power system of Minsk and the Minsk Oblast. The company generates a quarter of the electricity produced in Belarus. End </p>
