MAZ trucks sales in Russia down 10.2% in Jan-Oct 2020 to 2,808 vehicles

Belarus’ Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) sold 2,808 trucks in Russia in January-October 2020, down 10.2% year on year, Russia’s Autostat said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Supplies of MAZ trucks to Russia in October 2020 increased by 11.3% year on year to 394 vehicles. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Jan-Oct 2020, MAZ was the fifth largest truck seller on the Russian market. Russian KAMAZ, which increased sales in Jan-Oct 2020 by 0.2% year on year, topped the list with 22,005 vehicles. Swedish Scania was the second with 3,641 vehicles (down 6.9%); Russian GAZ was the third with 5,600 vehicles (down 20.1%); Swedish Volvo was the fourth with 3,498 (down 22.3%). </p> <p> </p> <p> KAMAZ was the first in terms of sales in Oct 2020 (2,711 trucks, down 2.9% yoy); Scania was the second (656 trucks, up 37.2%); GAZ was the third (534 trucks, down 37.8%); Volvo was the fourth (408 trucks, down 17.4%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The size of the Russian market of new trucks was estimated in Jan-Oct 2020 at 58,488 vehicles, down is 7.4% year on year; in October 2020 – 7,401 vehicles, down 9.2%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Minsk Automobile Plant began operations in 1947; incorporated in 2008; managing company of Belavtomaz Holding since 2012. 100% of its shares are owned by the state. The company produces 500 models and modifications of high-sided and all-wheel drive vehicles, dump trucks, chassis, tractors, timber trucks, trailers and semi-trailers, cranes, special equipment, and about 15 bus models.
