MAZ produces gas-powered dump truck custom-made for Uzbekistan
<p> MINSK, Apr 8 - PrimePress. OAO Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ, managing company at BelavtoMAZ Group), has manufactured a new model of a dump truck running on natural gas (compressed gas used as motor fuel) for Uzbekistan – the three-axial MAZ-65012K with 18.5-tonne payload. </p> <p> </p> <p> A preliminary decision to supply gas-powered vehicles to Uzbekistan was made several years ago. The parties also agreed to produce dump trucks for transportation of loose cargoes and construction materials, equipped with locally produced gas cylinders type 1 (condition of the Uzbek side). </p> <p> </p> <p> The dump truck’s diesel engine was replaced with a 400 hp Weichai WP12NG400E50 Euro 5 gas engine. </p> <p> </p> <p> Two MAZ-65012K trucks are assembled, which are sent to Uzbekistan for certification tests. </p> <p> </p> <p> MAZ, the country’s largest OAO, is fully owned by the Belarusian government. The enterprise produces all-wheel drive trucks, log trucks, dump trucks, cranes on truck chassis, trailers and semitrailers, custom-made vehicles, buses. End </p>
