MAZ bus sales in Russia up 49% in 2020 to 693 units

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) has increased sales of new buses in Russia by 49% year on year in 2020 to 693 units, Russia’s agency Avtostat stated in a review. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2020, MAZ came in fourth in sales of new buses in Russia. Russian manufacturer PAZ is in the largest player (6,348 buses, minus 21% by 2019); the second is Russian LiAZ (2,514, +1.5 times); the third is Russian Nefaz (1,551, +47%). </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2020, the Russian market’ capacity for new buses was 13.2 thousand units, down 5% on 2019; in December 2020 it was 1.710 thousand, down 2%. </p> <p> </p> <p> MAZ, the country’s largest OAO, is fully owned by the Belarusian government. The enterprise produces all-wheel drive trucks, log trucks, dump trucks, cranes on truck chassis, trailers and semitrailers, custom-made vehicles, around 15 kinds of passenger buses. End </p>
