Lukashenko's ordinance on counter-sanctions to come into force 10 April
<p> MINSK, Apr 1 - PrimePress. Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko’s ordinance #128 of 30 March 2021 “On application of special measures” will come into force on 10 April 2021. The ordinance was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on 1 April. </p> <p> </p> <p> “A ban shall be imposed on imports into the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the sale of certain groups of goods (including goods of certain manufacturers), whose country of origin is the state and (or) the association of states, that have decided to introduce special measures against Belarusian legal entities and (or) individuals, or joined the special measures against the Belarusian legal entities and (or) individuals, adopted by other states and (or) their associations,” reads the text of the ordinance. </p> <p> </p> <p> A similar ban is introduced with regard to imports of works and services to Belarus from such countries. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the ordinance, a list of banned goods, works and services and, if necessary, foreign entities and individuals, as well as the period of bans are set by the government. The bans do not apply to the transit of goods through Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> The document instructs the government to take measures to balance markets and prevent the accelerated growth of prices of goods, works and services, as well as to substitute the goods banned for import in the domestic market with goods produced in Belarus and other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
