Lukashenko grants additional powers to president’s regional envoys

Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko has granted additional rights to his representatives in the country’s regions (oblasts) and Minsk City, in accordance with ordinance #444 of November 26, 2020, as reported by Lukashenko’s press service. </p> <p> </p> <p> The ordinance is aimed at strengthening the role of the President's authorized representatives in the regions and the city of Minsk. The document empowers presidential envoys to make proposals aimed at facilitating the effective functioning of enterprises that largely determine the complex development of Belarus’ regions, said Lukashenko’s press service. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the administrative division of Belarus, the country consists of six regions (oblasts) - Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev and the City of Minsk.
