Lukashenko decrees to withdraw Belorusneft from Belneftekhim Concern – ordinance
<p> MINSK, Jul 19 - PrimePress. The state-run production association Belorusneft (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast) is being withdrawn from the management structure of Belarus’ petrochemical industries concern (Belneftekhim) which fell under the U.S. sanctions. This is stated in presidential ordinance #275 of July 16, 2021 “On amending presidential ordinances,” published on the National Legal Internet Portal on July 17. </p> <p> </p> <p> Particularly, the ordinance rules to eliminate subparagraphs 2.5 and 2.6 of paragraph 2 of Ordinance #576 “On creation of the state production association Belorusneft” of September 14, 2006, which specified that Belorusneft is subordinated to Belneftekhim Concern, and that the Belorusneft director general is appointed and dismissed by the chairman of Belneftekhim with the consent of the president of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> The ordinance comes into force after its official publication. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, on June 3, 2021, the US Ministry of Finance renewed sanctions against nine Belarusian petrochemical enterprises, including Belneftekhim Concern and its branch in the United States. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft was established in 1966. Its main activities include oil and gas production, oil services, hydrocarbon processing, industrial science, engineering, sales of refined oil and liquefied gas products. End </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
