Lukashenko broadens mandate of his regional assistants
<p> MINSK, Dec 30 - PrimePress. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has expanded the powers of his assistants, chief inspectors in the oblasts and Minsk city (decree No.503 of December 29, 2020), the presidential press office reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> The assistants/inspectors are empowered to engage government agencies and organizations in the execution of the president’s orders, including in security matters. It will be enough to show the official ID to freely enter the territory and premises of government agencies and organizations. </p> <p> </p> <p> In case of detected mismanagement, breach of legislation, or poor workplace discipline, the assistants/inspectors may initiate disciplinary investigation by filing requests with government agencies and organizations. </p> <p> </p> <p> Also, the assistants/inspectors are to take measures to identify sources and factors that pose threats to national security, to monitor, analyze and forecast socio-political and socio-economic processes, to make proposals to ensure political stability and the rule of law in their oblasts. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus is administratively divided into six regions (oblasts): Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk and Mogilev, and the city of Minsk.
