Lukashenko appoints law enforcers to diplomatic positions in Armenia, Azerbaijan China
<p> MINSK, Nov 19 - PrimePress. Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko on November 19 appointed former State Secretary of the Security Council Andrei Ravkov Ambassador to Azerbaijan, former Prosecutor General Alexander Konyuk Ambassador to Armenia; current Chairman of the State Customs Committee Yuri Senko has been appointed Belarus’ Ambassador to China. </p> <p> </p> <p> A report to this effect was released by Lukashenko’s press-service. </p> <p> </p> <p> Lukashenko has approved several more diplomatic appointments: Head of the main legal-contractual department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Metelitsa was appointed Ambassador to Pakistan, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pavel Vzyatkin - Ambassador to Kenya and concurrently in Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia. Vziatkin will also act as Belarus’ representative to the African Union, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT). </p> <p> </p> <p> Lukashenko focused the new ambassadors on the priority of foreign trade in their destination countries and, above all, on increasing exports: “The main thing is export. Politics remain politics. It is clear that there will be a lot of it in Azerbaijan, Armenia and China. But there that we need to promote trade and economic relations”. End </p>
