Krion changes focus exclusively to medical oxygen production amid pandemic

Krion has reoriented its production capacities to the production of medical oxygen in the conditions of the pandemic, said Krion CEO Oleg Gavrushin. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the Health Ministry of Belarus, the demand for medical oxygen in the country has increased nearly four times during the pandemic. Krion (Minsk) is the only specialised enterprise producing industrial gases with the right to sell medical oxygen in Belarus. At present Krion supplies medical oxygen to more than 100 healthcare institutions of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Krion’s all production facilities have been operating in 24/7 mode for more than year. For more advanced hospitals we deliver liquid oxygen, pour it into special tanks, then it is gasified there using so-called atmospheric vaporizers and supplied to the ward. Some hospitals still use cylinders. It is not possible to stockpile oxygen: this product can’t be stored for a long time,” the corporate magazine Belneftekhim Bulletin reports citing Gavrushin as saying. </p> <p> </p> <p> Krion (Minsk) is the country’s only specialised producer of industrial gases, which has the right to sell medical oxygen in Belarus. The enterprise specializes in production of air separation products - oxygen, nitrogen and argon, both in liquid and gaseous state, as well as food, calibration and technical gas mixtures.
