Inflation in Belarus at 0.2% in Jul; 3.6% in Jan-Jul 2020
<p> MINSK, Aug 11 - PrimePress. Inflation in Belarus was at 0.2% in July 2020; 3.6% in January-July 2020. 2020. Prices rose by 5.2% year on year in July and by 5% year on year in January-July 2020, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, inflation in Belarus stood at 0.9% in January 2020; 1% in February; 0.9% in March; 0.6% in April; 0.2% deflation in May; 0.2% inflation in June. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belstat, food prices decreased by 0.1% year on year in July 2020 and increased by 3.1% from December 2019. In July 2020, food price were up 4.6% year on year; 4.2% yoy in January-July 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Non-food prices rose by 0.3% month on month in July 2020, up 3.3% from December 2019. Non-food prices rose by 4.8% yoy in July 2020, up 4.4% yoy in January-July 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Prices and tariffs for fee-based services increased by 0.5% in July 2020 against June 2020; up 4.7% from December 2019. Prices of fee-based services increased in July 2020 by 6.8% against July 2019, by 7% year on year in January-July 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, inflation in Belarus was at 4.7% in 2019, the official forecast being 5%. The official inflation forecast for 2020 is also at or below 5%. The National Bank of Belarus did not rule out, though, that inflation might grow to 6%. End </p> <p> </p>

As previously reported, inflation in Belarus was at 4.7% in 2019, the official forecast being 5%. The official inflation forecast for 2020 is also at or below 5%. The National Bank of Belarus did not rule out, though, that inflation might grow to 6%. End
