Gutseriyev out of RussNeft’s new board of directors

The shareholders of Russian oil company RussNeft have elected a new board of directors and expanded the amount of seats to 12 from 11, but the core shareholder of the company, Mikhail Gutseriyev, was not included, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. </p> <p> </p> <p> Gutseriyev was board chairman, but he decided to step down after the E.U. blacklisted him for supporting Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> Russneft is among Russia’s largest companies in terms of oil production. The company’s portfolio includes assets in key oil & gas bearing regions of Russia (Western Siberia, VolgaUrals and Central Siberia) as well as in Azerbaijan. The company's proved and probable (2P) reserves exceed 200 million tonnes. Gutseriyev is the chairman of the board of directors and one of the main beneficiaries of Russneft. </p> <p> </p> <p> Gutseriev is building a new potash plant in Belarus. His company Slavkali FLLC has been implementing the project to construct the Nezhinskiy mine since 2016. The project investment value is over $2 billion. The mine will be Belarus' second potash ore mining and potash fertiliser production facility (up to 2 million tonnes of potash per year). Its resource base is the Nezhinskiy area (eastern part) of the Starobinskiy potassium salt deposit (Minsk Oblast). They plan to finish construction operations at the Nezhinskiy mine by 2023.
