Exports of Belarusian goods through BUCE exchange up 80% to $369m in H1 2021

Exports of Belarusian goods through the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) increased by 80% year on year in January-June 2020 to $369 million, PrimePress reports citing the BUCE press service. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusian goods were purchased through BUCE trade sessions by companies from 29 countries. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports to Lithuania increased by 77% year on year in January-June 2021 up to $101 million mainly due to shipments of sawn wood, wood chips and oilseeds products. Exports to Germany increased 2.5-fold to $64.8 million. Exports of sawn wood amounted to approximately $64 million, milk powder and technical casein amounted to over $1 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Export sales to Latvia through BUCE increased by 74% to $57 million, to Estonia by 49% to $32.3 million, to Russia by 3.7 times to $30.4 million. Exports of cement to the Russian market increased six-fold year on year in January-June 2021 to $10.7 million, butter - 61-fold to $10 million, milk powder - seven-fold to $6.6 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> In January-June 2021, 17 new Chinese companies were accredited at the BUCE. Exchange exports to China in value terms increased 16-fold to $19m. Lumber and colza seed oil dominated the structure of transactions. </p> <p> </p> <p> BUCE also officially entered the Egyptian market with deliveries of Belarusian lumber products. Five Egyptian companies operate on the BUCE exchange platform. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) was founded in 2004, the first trading took place on 2 June 2005.
