Electric vehicles charging at Belorusneft’s Malanka stations to become paid service Jan 1, 2021
<p> MINSK, Dec 16 - PrimePress. Belorusneft (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast)–Belarus’ sole producer of crude oil–will begin collecting payments for charging electric vehicles at Malanka stations from January 1, 2021, Belorusneft told PrimePress. </p> <p> </p> <p> The price of 1 kW at the charging stations (rapid charge) will be set at Br0.39 ($0.15 at the rate of National Bank of Belarus); slow charge – Br0.29 ($0.11). Payments may be made using the Malanka mobile app, which has been running in test mode for several months. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Charging of electric cars in Belarus has been free since 2014, when the first stations were arranged. No other country in the world had provided this for free so long. Even after this has become a paid service, the price of charging will be the lowest in Europe,” says Belorusneft Vice CEO Andrei Kotik. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belorusneft, electric car charge that would be enough for 100 kilometers will cost around Br6 ($2.37) depending on the type of charge, while a car with an internal combustion engine will consume around 10 liters of fuel on average to run for 100 kilometers, i.e. around Br18-20 ($7.11-7.9). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft’s first charging station has been operating since 2014. The company plans to open 640 stations by 2022. The total cost of the network is estimated at 150 million euros. Investments are being negotiated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank. Currently, charging terminals 120 kW in capacity are being installed on highways at gas stations. New stations with the capacity of 150 kW are planned. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft was founded in 1966. Being part of Belneftekhim state petrochemical concern, the company specializes in exploration work, oil extraction, gas processing and offers a wide range of seismic exploration operations. </p> <p> Belorusneft provides oil extraction service in Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Ecuador, facilitates crude supplies to Belarusian on refineries on a give-and-take basis. Belorusneft sells oil products via a proprietary network of refilling stations–the largest network in the country.
