EEU plans to create common commodity exchange market by 2025
<p> MINSK, Sep 30 - PrimePress. The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) plans to create a common exchange market of goods by 2025, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Sergey Glazyev, EEC Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics, there are four tasks to be solved for this purpose: develop approaches to the formation of a common exchange market of EEU goods, including the market of financial derivatives, underlying asset of which is a commodity; establish on-exchange and over-the-counter price indicators; determine a list of goods that are appropriate to sell via the EEU exchange mechanism; and also develop a programme for the development of exchange trade in commodities, which is to be approved by 31 December 2024. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Belarus, trade in goods is carried out by the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange. The exchange was established in 2004, the first trading took place on 2 June 2005. As of 1 September 2021, 26,664 companies (including clients of brokers), including 5,329 non-residents, were awarded BUCE accreditation. End </p>
