EEU markets should account for 50% of Belarus exports - Foreign Ministry
<p> MINSK, 11 Feb - PrimePress. Belarus should concentrate 50% of its exports on the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey said in his address to the VI All-Belarusian People's Congress on February 11. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) accounted for 58.61% in the structure of Belarus’ foreign trade in goods in 2020, non-CIS countries - 41.39%, including the EEU countries - 49.51%, Russia - 47.88% and the EU - 19.36%. </p> <p> </p> <p> Makey said that under the current circumstances, it is expedient to change the ‘one-third-each’ export formula, when one third of the supplies would fall on Russia, the EEU, the European Union (EU) and other f-oreign countries. In his opinion, half of the exports should be concentrated in the EEU markets, and the remaining half should be divided equally between the EU and the far arc countries. End </p> <p> </p>
