EEU introduces customs transit procedure for exported tobacco from 1 Sep - EEC
<p> MINSK, Aug 30 - PrimePress. Customs transit procedure will be introduced in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in respect of exported tobacco from September 1, 2021. A similar procedure will apply to alcoholic products from January 1, 2022, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) said. </p> <p> </p> <p> Customs transit procedures will apply to commodities corresponding to EEU FEACN codes 2402 and 2208, when placed under customs export procedure, in accordance with resolution #98 of 3 Aug 2021 adopted by the EEC Board. </p> <p> </p> <p> These practices will be in place “until the start of tracking these goods in accordance with the international treaty within the EEU on the use of navigation seals to track the transport of goods.” </p> <p> </p> <p> The move is supposed to ensure accounting and control over the process of transportation of alcohol and tobacco to places of departure from the EEU customs territory, suppress criminal schemes, minimize the risks of violation of customs laws and reduce economic losses for the EEU states, the EEU press service said.
