EEU extends transition period for GMP certificates for medicines till late 2024

The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) has extended the transition period for GMP certificates (Good Manufacturing Practice) for medicines until the end of 2024, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) informed. </p> <p> </p> <p> “When registering medicinal products in the Eurasian Economic Union, manufacturers may provide national documents confirming compliance with GMP requirements until their expiry date. A common deadline for applications for national GMP certificates in the EEU states was determined - until December 31, 2021. Thus, since 2022 all states of the Union will switch to issuing GMP certificates compliant the rules of Good Manufacturing Practice in the EEU based on the results of production inspections,” the report says. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Taking into account that validity period of national certificates is three years, manufacturers will have enough time till December 31, 2024 to renew GMP certificates according to the EEU format and to plan time for getting a new union certificate,” said the EEC press-service. </p> <p> </p> <p> In addition, the EEC Council decided to switch to the EEU format of the GMP certificate when issuing certificates for medicinal products manufactured for export from January 1, 2023.
