EEU, Egypt plan to hold free trade talks in Nov-Dec

The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) and Egypt are planning to hold free trade talks in November-December 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Andrey Slepnev, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) made a statement to this effect at the meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Ihab Nasr, the EEC press service reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the EEC, EEU trade with Egypt increased by 32.5% year on year in January-June 2021. In particular, exports of EEU member states to Egypt increased by almost 40% - from $1.4bn to $1.95bn, imports from Egypt to the EEU increased by 11% - from $437m to $489m. </p> <p> </p> <p> The EEU was established in 2015 and includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The free trade zone with the EEU includes Vietnam, Iran and Singapore; Egypt, Israel, India and China are at the negotiation stage. End </p>
